Though keenly interested in art and photography since youth, Kenna Foster made her debut into the “career-world” in a large office, armed with a Communications degree from Pepperdine University. As luck would have it, cubicle life was not amenable to Kenna and, though she worked long and hard, she never felt that sense of purpose and reward… of inspiration. Nature and the outdoors beckoned, unrelentingly. Modifying the application of her Communications degree, Kenna embarked upon a career in outdoor education and preservation. Whitewater raft-guiding and teaching at Outdoor Science School allowed her the privilege of regularly seeing (and photographing) nature’s splendor. Meanwhile, her interactions with schoolchildren and the public taught Kenna that vast behavioral changes can accompany inspiration. Teaching an appreciation of nature through experience served as a more powerful motivation technique than lectures and fear tactics. Encouraged by the success of newly-inspired students, Kenna embarked on a mission to help influence environmental preservation similarly among adults, using the same philosophy. Someone who truly loves the outdoors makes a much better steward than someone who just does what he or she “should” do for the environment. With this in mind, another avenue of teaching and inspiring presented itself. Kenna realized the opportunity to share her visions of our world when viewers repeatedly responded to locally-shot photographs exclaiming, “Wow! Where is that beautiful place?” Embracing the visual element of communication, Kenna added photography as another technique to encourage appreciation and preservation of nature. It is her hope that these beautiful vistas inspire more caretakers in that quest. **A portion of all proceeds are donated to the International League of Conservation Photographers (ILCP) and The W.I.L.D. Vigil
From: Kenna Foster- Fine Art Photography
Scaling the rocks to get a better sunset vantage point, I happily discovered a timeless "watchman's tower." Only after my eyes had wandered eons of canyons and an endless horizon, did I notice the elemental-lizard keeping its unbroken vigil over the desert and its ever-changing occupants. **This pensive moment is captured on premium, archival quality matte paper that will last a lifetime. Mirror Lake Sunset
From: Kenna Foster- Fine Art Photography
Location: Yosemite National Park, CA Having heard tales of a dry dusty version of mirror lake, I felt fortunate to see Yosemite in the spring when the famed Mirror Lake had plenty of water to put on its show. Adding to that fortunate feeling, I managed to take in the serene vista as the sun cast a warm setting-glow on Half Dome and the other peaks surrounding me. The glassy reflections of this moment are captured on premium, archival quality matte paper and arrive signed (on back unless ot...

For My Mother
From: Kenna Foster- Fine Art Photography
Location: Queenstown, New Zealand My mother loves Lupines (Blue Bonnets) and I composed this picture for her. It was yet another attempt to give something back for all that she has given. Along the journey, this picture has acquired a second meaning for me. The natural beauty of this world is one of the greatest gifts we're given and for that, I feel a deep sense of gratitude and an intense need to give back. To that end, I will be donating 30% of all profits from this photograph to ILCP & WI...
