I have an extensive craft and design training with in comtemporary quilting and free machine embroidery. I started crafting in early childhood and haven't stopped since. Designing, developing and making things makes me so happy. I love to eksperiment and my shop http:/SewDanish.etsy.com reflects just that. I opened my shop in the beginning of May 2008, so it is still early days. It has been a very steep learning curve opening up shop, as I up untill then just had used the computer in the function of a typewriter. Just trying to learn the lingo has been a challenge. But I'm getting there and I'm having a lot of fun, eventhough it takes a lot of my time. When I'm not in front of the computer :-) minding my shop, networking promoting etc... then I'm very busy with the 4 textile groups that I belong to. Two of the groups are very labour intensive as we are always working towards exhibitions. Working in a group with like minded people is a great challenge and it is very satisfying on a continiously basis being pushed, inspired, critiqued... When not busy doing all the above I can be found doing a lot of yoga (need that to keep me grounded :-), out hiking with my husband or I'll be travelling. With relatives and friends in Denmark and in the US we have a lot of build in travelling though out the year.

	BLUE GRAY JAPANESE RAFFIA STABBOUND BOOK

	My hand dyed and decorated material is used to cover the front and back, as well as the inside covers is so beautiful and truly unique. No two piece will ever be identical. The 24 slightly textured, 160 grams, pages making up the inside of the book are heavy enough for sketching, gouache, scrap booking...The book is bound using Japanese stab binding technique and raffia. A tag made from the cover paper back with Danish newspaper hangs from a piece of raffia tied to the spine.

	This picture is one of a kind and is part of a series of three mounted art quilts. Felted designs were applied and merged into the hand dyed (by me) surface, using a selection of sewing and metallic threads. The background was quilted and distressed. The textured background was highlighted with paint for a final touch. The quilt is mounted and stretched over a canvas. The back is covered with black felt and mounted with eyelets and wire. The picture is ready to be hung.
