| “I want people to feel good when they view my work—because I feel good creating it. I want people to experience the magic of the moment.”
My work involves creating something magical from a moment in time. Memories are more than a visual record—what we felt is sometimes more important than what we saw. Some memories have a glow and warm to them—almost magic. I try to bring this glow and magic to my artwork.
I began exploring digital art tools in the 1990s and started learning everything I could about photography. I’ve learned photography by studying master photographers—like Craig Tanner and Marilyn Sholin—as well as trail and error. I’ve also draw on my training as a graphic designer/web designer.
Currently, I working on three different series: photo watercolors, vintage vignettes, and photo abstracts. My photo watercolor series prints are painted digitally from original photographs. The photo vignettes series explores ways to recreate vintage lighting techniques with a modern twist. The photo abstract series has a dream-like quality an a sense of movement and are typically taken with a lensbaby lens. |
