This is my 5th year of working with fused batiks and hand dyed fabrics. This process started more than 10 years ago with making Watercolor or Colorwash floral quilts and wallhangings. A few years later, I began making Mosaic Photo Quilts from photographs for family members as gifts. Now the Art that I am creating is actually smoothing out the edges of the mosaic tiled pieces and making gently curved shapes for a more realistic image.

	Blue Ridge Mountains Waterfall Fabric Mosaic Art

	I selected blues, greens, silver, white and black as the main colors to try to recreate a waterfall and rocks with fabric. I was unsure if I could capture a realistic water scene. The piece is made from small strips, rectangles and squares of fabric. It took about 400 hours to complete.The water seemed to flow and I imagined listening to the sounds as it passed over the rocks.

	Mick Jagger's image that are looking at is made from cotton fabric! No paint was used even though it looks just like a painting. There were thousands of cotton batik fabric used to create this image. This fabric selection really looks like clay was used to sculpt Mick. The process took 100 hours too complete.Sometimes the pieces are so little it can fit on you fingernail with plenty of room to see your nail! Stand away from computer for full effect.

	This image uses a palette that look so realistic. When I look at it it seems like he's in the room. It took about 60 hours to complete and I used 9 colors. The medium is fabric, fusible and a tricot backing. Stand away from your computer screen to get the better view. It measures 13 1/2" x 18".

	This Mosaic won a Honorable Mention Award in Boulder City's annual Fine Arts Festival 5/2008! This piece shows the Kennedy brothers whispering measures 21 x 17 1/4. 	This piece was made using hundreds of fabric pieces, some as little as 1/4 inch! The palette was made using 9 batik and handdyed fabrics. It appears like many more colors were used because the selected fabrics have several colors within one piece.
